Maria had her first chemotherapy appointment today. It sounds like it went well; she reported that "they are taking very good care of me here! They brought me pillows, blankets, and ginger beer, and told me to put my feet up and lay back in a comfy recliner." (I told her to ask them for a pedicure, but I guess that's not standard procedure.) Jerry reported that "she came out with a smile on."
For the next two days, she'll wear a pump that will continue to deliver the chemo treatment until they remove it on Wednesday. Then she'll get two weeks off before going back for the next treatment.
Last week, she met with a pain management doctor, and also had a CT scan of her lungs; that scan came back negative for cancer today, which is great news.
We anticipate a happy (if slightly chaotic) week ahead as the family gets together in Virginia. Thanks, all, for your kind wishes (and your patience while we switched update websites)—keep the prayers coming, and have a lovely holiday.
